Holy crap, I just noticed the dither method you used for her pants. What made you do that? I'm presuming this is all digital so that's actually a neat small detail you had to put extra thought in for such a small detail. Not to mention the time it takes to create it. Do you use something to create the pattern or did you just make the pattern and overlay it over the colors/shading (or vice versa with blending methods)
I can't reveal my secrets. Jus' kiddin'. It's an 8x10 (I think) dot pattern/screen tone. I brought the tone into photoshop; placed it over the image, used the magic wand tool to select just her pants (since her pants are blue it's the only color the wand selected when it's set to 0 tolerance, and anti-alias is off), I reversed the selection (control+alt+I); hit delete, and the screen was only over her pants.
Well now, that gal was turned into a massive snake. Side effects should certainly come as no surprise. She should be grateful it's something she can easily hide. My concern is her suddenly growing fangs and venom sacs. Hmmmmmmmm, they just might make quite the hero tandem, Queen Bee and Ms. Slither.
Hopefully she'll come up with a way to hide them. I don't know though. She can't wear the hat in the pool. Don't know what Firebrand128 has in mind, but maybe he'll have her change her persona (become a goth kid or something, and claim the new eyes as contact lenses.
Her eyes may turn out to be the least of her concerns if whatever happened isn't done changing her. Hey, at least she has a friend who can relate (for better or worse, I suppose).
I'm seeing an "anthro"-girl who needs a reassuring hug from her best friend.
:)
As for the reactions of her classmates? The "story" is simple:
"I need corrective contacts, which got me feeling REALLY depressed, so my parents decided to have the lenses made up with this cool "reptile"-motif, to cheer me up!"
Well, you must admit, this follows pretty closely (but not 100%) to the story-arc of Dr.Connor in his original comic-book incarnation - at least so far. He was always something of a "Jekyll/Hyde"-type in my eyes, at least.
...Or maybe not-so-much "wear off", maybe more like "brought under control", so she can do this at will, when she needs to help her friend fight crime...?
This made me go off and Google why slit pupils exist. Apparently it makes for great night vision while also allowing the eyes to function well in daylight. So it's any consolation, Sam won't bump her toes in the dark. Assuming she still has toes...
In good news she's one step closer to finding an anthro fetishist to love her if she can keep her eyes like that!
There's someone for 'almost' everyone.
