I had always wondered how heroes get their masks off. They must be stuck on pretty tight if they stay on through explosion and back flips. Ever wonder if Robin get's a rash around his eyes?

My amazement is more how their entire costumes are as resistant to damage as they are! For example, the Hulk should be...um, swinging in the breeze after every battle or temper tantrum, considering he knocks down building and uses nukes to get a suntan. I never heard of Bruce Banner wearing any kind of special pants (and boy, even those stretch like spandex). With anything like normal materials for superhero costumes, every single concluded battle against evil should result in more anatomy showing than a medical class.

Someone like Edna(?)in the Incredibles makes sense. All I can guess is there was a Edna-type secret superhero boutique never mentioned through the decades.

If Robin used some sort of adhesive to keep his mask on, he should look like a raccoon by now.

Well let's all hope the R-rated superhero craze never reaches the MCU. Nobody wants to see that. Except maybe those people on deviantart.

... actually I remember one issue from decade or two ago where Hulk got naked, after getting blasted almost down to bone. He got better... his pants... not...

Decades ago, the "Barry Allen"-era Flash introduced a character who made his living as a tailor for the supervillains of Central City:

Huh' I'd never considered that. Of course, fewer and fewer heroes wear domino masks these days, in the age of movie-friendly "realistic" costumes. The only one who still wears his is Green Lantern, but since he has a ring that literally makes anything out of green energy, I assume he can make a mask that comfortably sticks to his face.

Yep Peter Parker & Clark Kent miss every thing.

That's literally the first time I've ever seen an explanation on the mask thing. I love it.

Wow. That was a lot to process, Cynthia. And I think you made a new friend! :3
